We have built the lab around the assumption that great people know what to do, and know when they need to ask for help. And from our experience, all companies perform better if they reach out and ask for help or input. So that's why we're here, and if we can't help, we usually know someone who can. Whether it's funding or hiring, production or distribution, partnerships or scaling.
When it comes to your company, you know best. However, getting input from industry experts from time to time can be very valuable to your business. We have therefore partnered up with a group of experienced executives and specialists from a wide range of industries. All StartupLab Industry Experts share the desire to pay it forward and help StartupLab members build the next generation companies out of Norway. Our Founders Fund is our source of financing, where we invest in early stage technology startups, inside and outside of StartupLab. Typically we invest in the first equity round, in the range of $100-400K – enough money to make an early impact and get the startup off the ground.
As previously mentioned, we are primarily reactive in the way we work with our members. When we invest in a company through Founders Fund the approach changes a bit, as we have an obligation to our investors to manage the funds at our disposal in the best possible way. This means that we work more proactively with Founders Fund portfolio companies.
To date (2021) we have invested in more than 110 companies.

We have several of Norway’s leading companies and public entities as partners, and they're here to help. They can be your distribution partner, your customer, your pilot customer, an investor and more.
Throughout the year we arrange introductions, accelerator programs, seminars and meetups with our corporate partners. These are announced in internal and external channels. If you are interested in a meeting with one of our corporate partners, just get in touch with [email protected].
From time to time you see some negative stories in the news about big-corps not behaving as they should. To avoid such incidents, we have made 6 rules of engagement for both corporations and startups to follow when working together.
Getting the right people to join your startup can be a challenging task. At Startuplab we can assist you in that process, as our network expands from the universities deep into the corporate world in Norway and beyond.
