Innovation Norway is one of the most important public organizations for financial aid for startups in Norway. They provide startups and SMEs with financial guarantees, grants and loans of different sizes and types.
We are happy to introduce you to our contacts in IN if you wish to talk with someone on the inside of the organisation before you submit your application.
Through Innovation Norway you can apply for premarket research funding (up to 100.000 NOK) or commercialization funding (up to 700.000) To be eligible for premarket research funding, your company must have been listed in the Brønnøysund register for less than 3 years, and for less than 5 years if you´re applying for commercialization funding. To apply, you need a Norwegian Bank ID and be listed as a legal person within the company in the Brønnøysund register.
Premarket Evaluation Grant
Innovation Norway can grant up to 100.000 NOK for premarket evaluation or markedsavklaringsstilskudd. This grant is intended to reduce the financial risk for early-phase startups when researching and testing their market. Keep in mind that only 2 out of 3 applications received, fullfill the requirements set by Innovation Norway.
Requirements:
1. Your company has been listed in the Brønnøysund register for less than 3 years
2. Your product/solution is based on a known problem/need
3. You have a possible solution defined or developed
4. You have researched possible competitors or substitutes
5. Your market research has clearly defined goals and criteria for success
6. You are able to document your current progress
7. You have a clear strategy on how to reach your market
8. You have not previously received grants from The Norwegian Research Council through FORNY stuDENT**.**
The funds can only be used for planned future external cost, which means the grant cannot be used as reimbursement for previous costs. Operational costs like salaries, renting of office space, office supplies, etc. will not be covered by the grant.
